We’re excited to share that REDHAND PICTURES created the brand new TED-Ed video “How did the Milky Way get its Shape?” — and it’s now live!
The video illustrates how the Milky Way formed its spiral shape — tracing its evolution from a chaotic cloud of gas and dust 13 billion years ago to the flattened spiral we see today.
This was a challenging concept for us to wrap our animator brains around — illustrating complex scientific concepts like angular momentum and gravitational waves — but we welcomed the chance to translate Scott Hershberger’s stellar script into simple, engaging visuals, while preserving the awe and beauty of space.
